Israeli Border Police’s counterterrorism forces entered Jenin last night in an operation against two suspected members of Islamic Jihad.
The suspects were located near the headquarters of the Palestinian Authority Security Forces. During the firefight one of the suspects was killed and another injured. Two PA Security Forces officers were also killed by the Israeli's.
It's not clear if the PA Security Forces were aware that it was Israeli forces they were engaged with but what is known is that the Israeli's did not inform the PA of the operation beforehand.
Tensions are already running high across the West Bank and with the current escalation in detentions and Israeli operations across the West Bank and Jerusalem it's likely that further clashes will occur over the coming week.
